ABOUT
Hi, I’m Brent. I’m currently working as a freelance video game sound designer and composer, based in Philadelphia.I've been passionate about audio since ’91 when I played Sonic the Hedgehog (it was love at first spin dash) . At 16, I got my first recording rig (a TonePort KB37!) and started learning everything I could about audio production, pulling apart my favorite sounds to figure out what’s happening under the hood. When I'm not obsessing over audio and video games, you can find me getting into nature with my greyhound Breezy, grilling in friends’ backyards, doing yoga, and watching the Sixers hopefully make their way to the finals (this is the year, I can feel it).

Why do I do this?Y’know that feeling you get when you play a great game or watch a really good movie or read an awesome book, where you’re completely enveloped in it? You get pulled into some other world and enter this kind of zen flow state. That’s what I wanna give to other people. I wanna take your work from “hey that’s awesome” to “holy shit that’s ALIVE.” I want my sounds to integrate so seamlessly with your world that you don’t even notice they’re there; you just feel them and miss ‘em when they’re gone.Sound can take a scene from “Yup that’s a cave,” to “that’s a CAVE. I am inside the cave. I can feel the temperature in here, I can smell it, I understand the size of the space, the moisture in the air, the water, the critters, the crevices, the wind through the cracks, everything. And I can even tell how I’m supposed to feel in this space—is it scary, playful, adventurous, lonely, melancholy, ancient, goofy? All without the player realizing what’s going on—just being fully present in your world.tl;dr I love storytelling. I love doing it through audio. I want people to feel the way I feel when I play my favorite games.
